Meanings: “Etymology”

Etymology.com tells us that “etymology” comes from Greek roots meaning “true sense of a word.”  This morning, XKCD, which earlier this week featured a character called “Etymology Man,” today gives us a visual that will help us remember not to confuse it with another word:
