Our Far-Flung Alumni: Ben Norton (’61)

May 19, 2011

Ben Norton (EC 1961) was honored this week by the Lorain National Bank, in Lorain, Ohio, for twenty-eight years of service on the bank’s board. It is a richly deserved recognition.

Northern Ohio’s Morning Journal provides the story.

For many years, Ben worked as human resources and community relations manager at Lorain Products, which successively became Reliance Electric and then RELTEC.

Ben and his wife Jane exemplify community service.  According to the Morning Journal, “He was president of the Greater Lorain Chamber of Commerce, Lorain Community Music Theater and is currently active in the Lorain Lion’s Club, Lorain Palace Civic Center, The Norton Family Foundation, The Stocker Foundation and just recently signed on, along with his wife, as the cochairman of the capital campaign for the Girl Scouts of Erie Shores.”

We are proud Ben is an Earlham graduate and a good friend of the college.
