A Better Approach to More Learning at Less Cost?

April 16, 2011

Kevin Carey of Education Sector has an idea for what he thinks would be a better federal education policy.  The idea would for the federal government to lend money to colleges and universities for “technology-driven efforts” “to build either hybrid or fully online models that have proven to improve student learning and reduce the cost of education at the same time.”

Carey adds, “This seems preferable to the current approach, which involves pouring ever-growing billions of no-strings-attached dollars into financial aid programs and then wasting the leftover money on legislative pork projects.”
