Our Far-Flung Alumni: Alexis Fajardo (’98)

December 11, 2010

So what do Classics major do after graduating from college?  Alexis Fajardo (EC ’98) writes graphic novels about Kid Beowulf, a hero based on the Anglo-Saxon Beowulf saga.   He’s featured in a story in yesterday’s San Francisco Chronicle. You can learn more about the Kid Beowulf books here.  By day he is responsible for the continuing appearance of Peanuts comic books at Charles Schultz Studios in Santa Rosa, California.

At Earlham, Alexis did a cartoon strip for our college newspaper, The Word, called Plato’s Republic, featuring a platypus named Plato.  See where it’s taken him?  To a place way better than Classics Comics.
